This week  in writing we have been looking at writing descriptive paragraphs about the nikau palm.  Here is my favourite describing sentence:

The Nikau palm is a great tall tree that stands out of the other trees because the branches poke out of the top of the trunk.

  1. Kia ora Levi. I enjoyed reading your post about your descriptive writing on a nikau plam. We sure have a lot of these palms on the West Coast. I especially liked the sentence about the branches poking out from the top of the tree. I wonder if next time you could continue with this writing and add detail about all of the tree from the trunk up.
    Kind regards

It is very interesting how the branches stick up from the top, they really stand out. Have you been along the coast road there are heaps of Nikua Palm tree's along there. Maybe next time you could write a weee bit more.

KIa ora Levi. You have described the Nikau Palm tree well. I think the Nikau Palm grows only on our West Coast -perhaps you could check that out. The new hospital has been named Te Nikau after this beautiful palm.
